About the Role:
METHOD Architects is seeking an experienced and highly capable Project Manager to lead the delivery of architectural and interior design projects across multiple project types. This role is essential to ensuring the successful execution of our work, the strength of our client relationships, and the consistent quality of our deliverables. Reporting to the Managing Principal, the Project Manager will serve as the primary interface between the client and the design team. This individual is responsible for overseeing project scope, budget, schedule, coordination, and quality control throughout all phases of the project. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and confident—someone who understands the pace and complexity of a design-driven studio and can manage multiple projects concurrently with professionalism and clarity.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Liaison

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between METHOD Architects and the client.

  • Oversee execution of professional services from a client perspective, ensuring design intent aligns with client goals and vision.

  • Maintain regular client communication regarding scope, schedule, and deliverables.

  • Obtain required client approvals throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Foster client relationship.

 Contract & Financial Management

  • Prepare proposals for new work and respond to Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) in coordination with the principal-in-charge.

  • Request, review, negotiate, and approve consultant proposals in coordination with the Controller.

  • Coordinate contract billing and collections with the Controller.

  • Oversee accurate tracking and timely submission of project reimbursable expenses.

  • Monitor project scope against executed agreements and initiate additional service requests as required.

  • Oversee purchasing activities when included in the scope, including vendor agreements and purchase orders, in coordination with the Industrial/Furniture Designer and Stylist/FF&E Designer.

Project Planning & Performance Management

  • Develop, manage, and monitor project schedules and milestones to ensure timely delivery.

  • Manage and track project budgets and financial performance.

  • Monitor staffing, workload, and resourcing to support project execution.

 Project Organization & Team Coordination

  • Lead weekly internal project meetings with assigned staff and key team members, in coordination with the Controller, to review compliance, financial status, schedules, and operational milestones.

  • Schedule and prepare for contractually required meetings with Owners, General Contractors, and Principals in Charge.

  • Ensure project files and documentation are maintained in accordance with METHOD standards.

  • Review and approve project team timesheets.

  • Manage project staffing and labor projections.

 Quality Assurance & Office Standards

  • Partner with the Lead Designer to ensure compliance with Architecture Standards checklists for each design phase.

  • Assist Senior Designers with quality assurance reviews of project deliverables.

  • Oversee adherence to office standards and quality control procedures.

  • Assist with employee performance reviews as required.

  • Prepare construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules, incorporating field-verified measurements, calculations, building codes, and other construction details.

  • Visit construction sites to perform field surveys on existing conditions.

  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure adherence to building specifications and industry regulations.

  • Work with the team to prepare Field Observations and Conditions Reports, documenting ongoing project construction and repairs.

  • Contribute to design development and construction detailing.

  • Coordinate filing documents and paperwork with the project expeditor.

  • Exhibit dedication, teamwork, and enthusiasm, fostering a collaborative project environment.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6–8 years of professional experience in a high-end interior design or architectural firm, including at least 3 years of direct project management experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong presentation skills, including space planning, drawing, and rendering.

  • Ability to produce construction and millwork drawings, specifications, and schedules.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with project management, timekeeping, and billing software.

  •  Strong design sensibility with a clear understanding of scale and proportion.

  •  Demonstrated problem-solving ability and comfort working in a collaborative environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple small and medium-sized projects simultaneously.

  • Authorization to work in the United States (US Citizen / Green Card holder).

 Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $85,000–$115,000, based on experience.
